Meet Johnathon Razo of Local Barber of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Johnathon Razo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Johnathon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Local Barber of Fort Worth, located in Downtown Fort Worth in the historic Sundance Square, is dedicated to providing traditional and Quality Services like the Classic Cut and Straight Razor Shave. For our Bearded Fellows, we also offer a Beard Shaping. I wanted to create a place in Fort Worth that stood out from all the other barber shops.

I wanted to bring back the Traditional which creates memories. I wanted to bring back the era of when father and son would go the barbershop together. I created Local Barber of Fort Worth for the community I want my clients to feel great about coming to the barbershop rather than it to be an errand. We make sure to greet on a first name and handshake.

We provide men’s grooming products like pomades, paste and hairspray. We also carry shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We wanted to make sure you can get everything at Local Barber of Fort Worth without having to visit a website or another store.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Going to Barber school had it struggles along the way. Having a newborn and working full-time and going to Barber school to complete 1500 hours. It was tough but it was worth it.

Please tell us about Local Barber of Fort Worth.
We Local Barber of Fort Worth wanted to bring back an era of barbering that is currently diminishing. We specialize in bringing back the traditional barber. Everything from the traditional smocks the barbers wear to the barber chairs.

I wanted everyone to see what real barber chairs looked and felt like. I found 4 1900’s Koken Barber chairs. I completely redid them from the upholstery to the chrome and the porcelain.

What also sets us apart is the barbers. We recruited some of the most talented barbers in Fort Worth. They are great at making people look and feel good but also respect their craft.
