Thanks for sharing your story with us Jon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My father started Lights Fantastic in 1968 with a location in downtown Dallas. He eventually opened over 30 Lights Fantastic showrooms around Texas during the growing 1970’s and 1980’s. He reduced the locations in the 1990’s back to 4 in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Five years ago we opened, Lights Fantastic Pro. The LED revolution is changing lighting forever and Lights Fantastic Pro is the first showroom designed esp for LED to educate, demonstrate and sell the latest in lighting technology. Lights Fantastic Pro has two key mottos that describe its mission – Rethinking Lighting – Lighting design and the light vocabulary is changing due to new technology esp LED and Lights Fantastic Pro has the lighting consultants and the showroom to explain it. Expect more from your lighting, it isn’t just about the light anymore. Lighting can provide health, productivity, mood, and experience benefits. The new showroom is the best at explaining the new Power of Lighting.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have been extremely successful for anyone who has come to our Lights Fantastic Showroom to see the future of lighting and what rethinking lighting can do for their application. The challenge is getting more people to the showroom. It is in Lewisville near the Nebraska Furniture so it isn’t easy for Dallas designers to get there. Once they come, they are sold. It is more challenging to get the professionals to the showroom.

As a 54-year-old company, we are most proud of how we continue to evolve and provide what the market is looking for in lighting. We have specialized in lighting for 54 years with two generations. All our employees are lighting geeks and we know lighting. Our resources, our experience and our strong team dedicated to using lighting to make peoples’ lives better have set us apart.
