Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Palmer.
Jordan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a former military brat, Dentonite and graduate of TWU. I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for seven years and have worked in the community setting, hospital and everything were in-between. I serve on the Governing Board for the Dallas Dietetic Alliance and love being in the nutrition field.
I have lived in East Dallas for five years and love being so close to White Rock Lake and a 5-minute drive from all the fun neighborhood pockets like Lakewood and Lower Greenville. I married the man of my dreams in 2017 and we have two cute dogs that we spoil.
I enjoy live music, a good British drama (Jane Austen anyone?) and experiencing life’s adventures with the ones I love.
Has it been a smooth road?
Life can take many paths and if you are open to change you will find the struggle is not as hard. That being said, anything worth having comes with work and successes are so much more rewarding when you earn them.
I worked hard in school and continue to put forth effort in life, knowing I can always improve and prevent myself from becoming complacent.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Vital Fitness Studio – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I have a passion for health that goes beyond just good nutrition and extends into fitness. I have always been active, however, thanks to my British Boxing Coach husband David Andrews, I have developed a love for boxing and boxing fitness. I’ve honed my boxing skills over the last four years, obtained a fitness certification from “Box and Burn Academy’ and officially started instructing a weekly boxing class at the beautiful Vital Fitness Studio located in Downtown Dallas early this year.
My husband and I have hosted many boxing special events and workshops over the last few years, and I had the honor of instructing a boxing class at FAME Fest this past September to a huge crowd with a live DJ and trumpet player that played the rocky theme song (cue chills).
I love being able to develop people’s boxing skills and witness their passion for boxing grow. I have seen so many people increase their confidence level in and out of the gym through boxing! It’s not just a great workout, boxing has the ability to bring people together and create a fun fitness community for all.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like Dallas, I have lived in here for five years and have seen the constant change (but what city doesn’t?). I like the variety of things to do, the music scene and the vibe of my local haunts like Lakewood and Lower Greenville.
It can be a struggle to find genuine people in Dallas at times, meaning another person who is genuinely interested in cultivating a friendship or connection. However, I have been able to find a few that fit this description and cherish them dearly!
