Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Thurston.
Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, I never ever once thought I would be a “White Collar” worker. I started my journey in the Welding/Metal Fabrication industry. After my wife and I had our now five years old triplets, working away from home for long periods of time wasn’t an option. I started looking for a job that would allow me to be closer to home. I was talking with a good friend of mine that was an insurance agent and he mentioned his agency was hiring. I applied and after an extensive interview process, schooling, and training I had a Job… Making less than half of what I did at my prior job…..but I was closed to home. I worked there for a year before I caught wind of the Goosehead agency model. It offered unlimited income potential, industry leading customer service, and world-class technology. It was a no brainer. Here I am almost four years later.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not, as a 100% commission-based agent, getting things rolling was about what you would expect. Ramen noodles and mean letters from the bill collectors, lol. It did teach me one thing, that I will do whatever it takes to not go back to that place in life. I attribute this to my daily drive and success.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always looking for adventure. Whether it was hunting, fishing, building hog traps or just hiking, I was always on the move. I was a very inquisitive kid that always had to answer or at least try to answer the “why’s and how’s” of the world. I was constantly taking things apart and putting them back together.
