Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Gutierrez.
Jose, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started off taking pictures with a phone and notice I really enjoyed taking pictures of cars, people. I then started going to local car meets and local festival events and took pictures, edited them and tag members or facilities. I then gained many contacts and new opportunities to shoot in nightclubs, car clubs in Texas and Los Angeles. I’ve enjoyed every opportunity to shooting for @therockstargarage at SEMA in Las Vegas and from shooting for Dub magazine and met many celebrities doing what I love to do.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Struggles were mainly equipment, lenses, and cards, chargers batteries, etc. Can be expensive but I managed to save up to purchase my Sony camera and lens and have been grateful for the clients that made this possible for me to spread my art through a camera.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jg.photoz story. Tell us more about it.
What sets me apart from others is not only I take pictures of cars but being a nightlife photographer can be difficult. Adjusting settings frequently taking pictures in low light have allowed me to learn more about my camera for my automotive photography. I enjoy cars and low light colors and I try my best to not just be an automotive photographer or just a portrait photographer. Doing both have allowed me to take pictures no matter day or night.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Good luck was able to be a part of the rock star garage media team to shoot in Las Vegas at (SEMA event). Invite only and getting the opportunity to travel to New York or Los Angeles to take pictures for famous car club (Targatrophy).
