Hi Joshua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a multi-hyphenate creative and tapped into streaming on Twitch, off and on about 3 years ago. I recently decided to start streaming consistently 3 months ago and it’s been an exciting journey! I’ve done 60+ streams since! I wanted to develop a channel based off of things that I genuinely like to do, hence “The Hot Ones Guy” (THOG) Series.
THOG was the first show I started simply because I like watching YouTube! My friends literally call me “The Watching Guy” because I watch YouTube and stream it in our discord. Once I had the idea to react to the YouTube show “Hot Ones”. It just made sense that I’d start at episode one and watch all 27 Seasons!
When I started streaming, NBA 2K26 had not been released. So, I startedd the beginning of my second show “The 2K Guy”. Where I play 2K26 online, mycareer and even go cart racing. Every time I lose a match I knockout 10 pushups!
These 2 shows are just a start to the variety of shows I will have on my channel. There are more to come!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a learning experience FOR SURE! When I originally started streaming I didn’t have any idea what I was doing. I just wanted to try it out and see where things would go. But, I was met with the issue of being in my own way.
I’d overthink everything asking myself questions like. What type of content I should make? Would people even care about my content? Why are my numbers not like other streamers? How do I get monetized? Going on and on in my head… until I realized non of that matters if I don’t do anything. I can’t say that I don’t get frustrated at times still, but once I started doing, those questions seemed to start answering themselves!
Now, people interact with my content when I post my clips on TikTok (Jnotesclips) and Instagram (Realjoshualouis). My numbers are growing and I got monetized on Twitch after 2 months! Life and work do get in the way from time to time, but I just roll with the punches and the journey has been great!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently I specialize in creating content across multiple platforms such as Twitch, TikTok, Instagram and soon I’ll be on YouTube! Today I’m either streaming THOG or The 2K Guy episodes, but in the future I have plans to expand into more of my other interests such as IRL disc golf streams and more!
I’m most know for streaming on Twitch, painting and music. I actually did an interview with Dallas Voyage for my paintings 3 years ago.
I’m most proud of the fact that I continue to show up and enjoy what I’m doing rather than getting caught up on the little things!
What sets me apart from others is that I don’t do a bunch of clip farming and shock value things. I just do my thing and clip up the organic things that I think are funny.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Business degree and for my day job I work on industrial batteries, chargers and handling equipment.
