Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Thibodeaux.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joshua. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was raised by a single mother in a small town, south of New Orleans. I became the first in my family to attend college and earned a Bachelors Degree in Management from Southeastern Louisiana University. I found out about State Farm from one of my customers at a retail job I held after college. It required me to take a pay cut, but I knew I wanted to help people after seeing the aftermath of hurricanes and how the right policy makes a difference in a loss. This career has allowed me to meet great people me in some of the weirdest places whether it’s for a claim or to write a policy. Four years later, I earned the opportunity to own my own business as a State Farm Agent! My family is new to Dallas, but we are blessed to be here to help life go right.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ever since I was a child, I’ve had to deal with adversity, but I’ve always focused on my future. With that in mind, things always seemed to work out. Adversity has made me appreciate where I’m at in life because it reminds me of where I might be if things were easier.
Joshua Thibodeaux State Farm – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a State Farm Agent. I don’t think of myself as an insurance salesman… I’m more of a “dream protector.” I help make people aware of the risks of everyday life so they can recover from the unexpected. They can do this with the proper plan in place to protect their “dreams.”
It sounds cheesy, but that’s how I view my job title!
State Farm has been around for 95 years and they’ve selected me to continue its legacy. I opened in January 2017.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
That’s a tough one and I don’t want to around cheesy, but every day I go to work and see my name on the building, it just makes my day! But, it’s not about me and I continue to get excited when I witness my team working with people the way I trained them every day!
