Meet Josiah Caleb of TeamNoww! in Oak Cliff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josiah Caleb.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Josiah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Experiencing a life of gangs, poverty, and violence, I have always striven to be different. My father went to prison when I was five and left my mom to take care of me and my brother and sister. We became homeless and stayed at the Dallas Life Foundation, Although life was rough, my mom made sure we had a good education. I found a strong desire in music that began with my first music lesson playing the trombone in 4th Grade. As I developed my craft, winning awards and placing in city-wide competitions, my gift for music flourished.

I was born January 14, 1990, in Plano Texas, But raised in a neighborhood know as Highland Hills. I found a love for singing as I matured and continued my musical path despite life struggles and experiencing the inner-city. I excelled at most things my hands touched. I received multiple scholarships to Historical Black Colleges/Universities. Ultimately, I chose to attend Langston University where I flourished in the marching band and choir. However, Paul Quinn College is where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. I am also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. After these added accomplishments I was ready to focus on a music career full-time.
Through all the ups and downs in my life, I always knew that God had a calling on my life.

So, I submitted my will and talents to God and began a career in Christian music. My unique sound is unparalleled, and I bring a fresh new perspective to the Christian musical world and to this day I believe God uses me to touch the lives of many people all over the world. I have traveled to countries such as Haiti and Virgin Island, I have a great Team know as TeamNoww! which helps with outreach as we assist in feeding the homeless and anything we can do to serve our communities Through my ministry I pray that people will see the truth and know that through the bloodshed of Jesus Christ they can have eternal Life.

TeamNoww! is excited to announce the release of I Heart Worship. Josiah Caleb has been inspired to bring universal worship music to all nationalities across the globe. Everyone can worship collectively exhibiting diversity through a high praise.

My sister passed away in March of 2018 from diabetes, which made a big impact on my life. Before she passed, I decided in late 2016 I needed to change my life by becoming healthier. In 2017, I weighed over 550 pounds. I decided that I wanted to live a healthy life so I set my journey to get fit. It’s 2019 and I have lost a little over 171 pounds and still counting. So I use my social media to inspire people through my workouts and healthy cooking.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has never been a smooth road in my life. Growing up without a father, being homeless and trying to figure out how to create a successful life for myself when it was never taught to me. All of these obstacles made me who I am today. My journey with my weight loss has really help me to push my self past my limitations, I never thought in my life I could lose over 20 pounds but loosing over 170 is crazy. It helps me to see that even though life may have its rough parts stay dedicated, committed and let faith be your anchor.

Please tell us about TeamNoww!.
TeamNoww is my brand that represents me as an artist. Being a Christian artist the most important part is branding so when we travel we sell all type of products from t-shirts, etc. Also, we do outreach from feeding the homeless and just bringing inspiration to the communities. I most proud of being able to start from the ground up without taking out loans and all though Teamnoww! has only been established for three years every year the brand is evolving. We are a small team but for a small team, we have really been effective.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from my childhood is my dad being in the home, I was blessed enough to see what a father should be like and how a father should provide for his family. Family is a real big thing for me, although I don’t have kids yet I want to be even a better father than mine.
