Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Lopez.
Juan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am new to the bar business, and got started in August of 2017. I have always had a vision for a Tejano bar where people could relax, have some good drinks and listen to great music. My business partners and I are focused on serving our customers and making them want to come back.
Has it been a smooth road?
The transition has gone well. We own other bars in the Fort Worth Stockyards so this isn’t new for us but it always takes time to get something new established. We are developing our regulars and finding the bands and drinks that will bring people back. We try to focus on a mix of live music, drink specials and creating an awesome atmosphere.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Blue Agave Saloon – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We own 4 bars in the Fort Worth Stockyards so we are focused in on this area of town and trying to create a unique atmosphere with the other bars and businesses in the Stockyards. The Blue Agave Saloon is also known as Pearls Dancehall and it has a long history in the Stockyards, going back 100 years. It truly is a piece of history and has been well established for many years. We are hoping to continue to build on that success and become the best Tejano bar in the Stockyards. I am proud of the work we have done in the first few months of the transition and owe that to my bands and my bartenders.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The Fort Worth Stockyards are a unique piece of Texas that draw a lot of people. It really combines the history of Texas with a unique downtown atmosphere that Texans and tourists love. I feel that it offers such a wide variety of things to offer and we are proud to be one of those things.
