Today we’d like to introduce you to Jules.
Jule, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As I write my story, I’m amazed. Every turn and life event has led me to the opportunity of helping hundreds of people into healthier living and healthier lifestyles. I believe we all walk a path that leads us to a purpose. I believe my purpose is to help others. No matter what circumstances, my constant in life has been training, lifting and gym life. This lifestyle means discipline, self-care, healthy eating, and healthy habits. I obtained a degree at Sam Houston State University to be an educator. However, I was always a part-time personal trainer.
In 2005 I had the opportunity to go to Thailand and complete a Master’s Degree. It was in Thailand where I did a lot of self-reflection and decided to combine my love of teaching with my passion for training. Upon my return, I began my career as a full-time personal trainer at Park Cities Personal Training gym. It was there that I planted and I grew. I challenged myself in many different avenues. I competed in figure competitions, triathlons and performed aerial work. These different disciplines have kept me engaged in a healthy lifestyle. A lifestyle that has given me the opportunity to inspire and help others reach their goals. I’m blessed and fortunate to be able to do what I love to do and to guide others into a healthier lifestyle.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I, like most, have had hardships to overcome. Some of these hardships, most of these, were self-imposed some were life imposed. Currently, I could write about Covid 19, labeling my profession as non-essential. However, it is because of challenges like this that I know who I truly am. I will figure out a way to help others, whether it’s home training or wearing a mask while training, I will manage it. I’m a “fox hole” type and I’m not bound by brick and mortar. I’m a fiercely determined mother, wife, friend and trainer. I’d like to think that I bring this particular steadfastness into all of my relationships. It is due to my perseverance and determination that I found myself at Park Cities Personal Training gym.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m known for being “Jules”. I do not edit. I speak in truth. I accept no excuses that keep people from going from good to great. Helping individuals to identify and overcome the weaknesses that keep them from their personal goals is my specialty. I incorporate accountability. I listen. I try to understand. I then help implement a plan. I care.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment has been writing a plan, holding someone accountable to that plan, then witnessing them transform from obesity to a healthy BMI. The health benefits of this transformation speak for itself but the emotional changes are truly heartfelt.
