Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Eversole.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my career in tax in 2008 and have spent most of my professional life working in different areas of tax compliance, preparation, and representation. Early in my career, I worked for the IRS for more than eight years, including as a Revenue Agent and Customer Service Representative. That experience gave me a strong understanding of how the tax system works from the government side and also showed me how overwhelming it can feel for taxpayers when they do not know where to turn.
After leaving the IRS, I continued building my experience in public accounting, including working with Ernst & Young, and later earned my Master’s in Taxation. Over time, I realized I wanted to create a firm where clients could get both technical expertise and practical, approachable help. I founded Eversole Tax, LLC in 2019.
Since then, the firm has grown to provide tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, and IRS representation for individuals and small businesses. I became an Enrolled Agent and, more recently, earned my CPA license, which was an important personal and professional milestone for me.
Today, I work primarily with individuals and small business owners, helping them with tax preparation and planning, resolving IRS issues, and understanding how tax decisions can affect them before problems arise. I especially enjoy helping clients who feel overwhelmed by tax notices or complicated situations and giving them a clear path forward. What started as a small independent practice has continued to grow, and I am excited to keep building the firm while maintaining the personal level of service that was important to me from the beginning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building a business while also raising a large family and managing all of the responsibilities that come with both. There have been many seasons where I have had to balance client deadlines, continuing education, family obligations, and the day-to-day work of growing a firm.
Another challenge has been learning how to transition from being technically strong in tax to also being a business owner. Tax knowledge is only one part of running a firm. I have had to learn how to manage growth, create better systems, set boundaries, price services appropriately, and decide which clients and services are the right fit.
There have also been times when progress felt slower than I wanted, but each challenge has pushed me to become more organized, more confident, and more intentional about the kind of practice I want to build. I am still growing and learning, but I think that is part of what makes owning a business rewarding.
As you know, we’re big fans of Eversole Tax, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Eversole Tax, LLC provides tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, business entity guidance, and IRS representation for individuals and small business owners.
What sets my practice apart is my background. I have worked in tax since 2008, including more than eight years with the IRS, experience in public accounting, a Master’s in Taxation, and credentials as both a CPA and Enrolled Agent. That combination gives me the ability to look at a client’s situation from several different perspectives.
I work with business owners on everything from deciding whether an LLC, PLLC, S corporation, or another entity structure is appropriate to helping them set it up correctly and plan for the tax impact as the business grows. I also help clients resolve IRS issues, respond to notices, correct prior-year problems, and understand their options when they owe tax.
I do not view the IRS as the enemy. It is simply an organization that can be difficult and frustrating to navigate if you do not understand how the system works. My experience allows me to help clients work through that process more efficiently and with a better understanding of what is happening.
More than anything, I want my clients to succeed. Their success is my success. I like to teach clients how to do things correctly from the beginning rather than simply fixing problems after they happen. Taking the time to set up a business properly, keep good records, understand tax obligations, and plan ahead can save a tremendous amount of time, money, and energy later.
I also want clients to leave with less stress and fear surrounding taxes. Tax problems can feel overwhelming, especially when someone is worried about penalties, consequences, or dealing with the IRS. My goal is to help them understand what is actually happening, what their options are, and what steps they can take next so the situation feels manageable rather than frightening.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are centered around continuing to grow Eversole Tax in a thoughtful way. One of my biggest goals is to expand the bookkeeping side of the practice. Bookkeeping gives me the opportunity to work with clients throughout the year rather than only during tax season, and it also allows me to understand their businesses better and help them stay organized before tax time arrives.
I also want to continue growing the tax planning, entity guidance, and IRS representation sides of the practice. My goal is to help more business owners make good decisions early, avoid preventable problems, and feel more confident about their tax obligations.
As the firm grows, I want to maintain the personal service and accessibility that are important to me. I am not interested in becoming so large that clients feel like a number. I want to build a strong year-round practice where clients feel supported, informed, and less stressed about taxes and running their businesses.
