Meet Julie Kennedy of Seed Wellness Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Kennedy.

Julie Kennedy

Hi Julie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my functional medicine journey almost 30 years ago when I was diagnosed with discoid lupus while I was in undergraduate nursing school. The medication that they put me on made me more sick than the autoimmune issue itself! I decided to take my health into my own hands. Through lifestyle medicine, I put the autoimmune issue into remission. I have had several other major health issues since then, and have used functional and integrative practices to heal myself. My daughter was born 16 years ago she had her share of health issues. This is when I began to study and become certified in various integrative and functional practices to help others. I also completed my doctorate in nursing with a focus as a family nurse practitioner. Fast forward to a year and a half ago, I was living in mold and got really sick. I had to quit my functional medicine job in Dallas and focus on healing. Within four months, I decided to start Seed Wellness in October of 2023.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely been challenging! Career wise, I didn’t initially have mentors to guide my way. And I didn’t know about functional medicine. So, I pieced together various certifications along the way. Although all of the trainings and experiences have been helpful, I could have had a shorter path to get to where I am. This is why I created a mentoring program for individuals to focus and be efficient with their career paths and get more functional medicine into the community!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Seed Wellness Co.?
Seed Wellness was started with the idea that we can plant small health seeds and watch them work and grow health and wellness in our lives. Our personal health journeys allow us to connect with our clients on a deeper level. Our offerings include nurse practitioner visits, nutritionists appointments, peptides, ozone, ultraviolet blood irradiation, high dose Vitamin C, nutrient IVs, and detox support. We pride ourselves on committing to get lifestyle and functional medicine tips into the community.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have always been diligent and a lifelong learner. I was an athlete, and still am to some regard. I was a leader and involved in student council and various other organizations growing up. I have always been more math and science focused, with a strong interest in health & wellness. As a natural leader, I lend towards entrepreneurial traits with a tendency to question the norm. I am a seeker.
