Today we’d like to introduce you to Juss Fresh.
Juss, before we jump into specific questions about your music, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO on Dec 28, 1989. I started writing music at age 11 but it wasn’t until 2013 after I left college that I started recording and performing my music. I moved to Oklahoma City and began my music career, recording my first track, “Another Day.” I started performing at the local open mic showcases and in 2014 I fly out to New York and recorded with producer Sdot. After my experience in New York, I went to the drawing board to sharpen my craft and figure out my purpose i music. It was then that I realized that I wanted my music to help people. No matter what emotion they might be feeling I wanted to have a song that would match that vibration. I wanted to use music to be able to talk to the world and help guide them in this crazy world. In 2016, I helped form Rasta Records, a coalition of great rap artist in Oklahoma City. We started performing at the local showcases until we was invited to Power 103.5 to debut our new single “New Bag” in 2017 although we experienced great traction due to legal issues, Rasta Records didn’t release any music all of 2018.
In the fall of 2018, I was contacted by my brother Bleek, to help with spreading knowledge through different art forms in his newly founded company Poetic City. I quickly jumped on board and started performing on a regular basis with Poetic City. In 2019 I was tasked with the mission of creating the Poetic City theme song, which would allow the listener to be able to see what Poetic City is bringing to the table. In the Fall of 2019, we created Poetic City Music Group, a label that focused on artist development and artist branding. PCMG’s goal was to create a platform where the artist could sharpen their craft and develop new skill sets that would aid them in their music career. PCMG is looking forward to letting the world hear the great artist we have on the roster. I released my single “Pattycake” on all streaming platforms in the Winter of 2019 and I’m releasing an Ep titled Somebody @Metoroboomin ft Juss Fresh, which will be on all streaming platforms in the Summer of 2020. I can be reached at IAMJUSSFRESH on all social media platforms.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have faced many obstacles along the way to get to where I’m at today. To begin with I grew up with a speech impediment and would slur my words bad. However, I was able to overcome this early on in my life but It returned once I started performing music. I had to learn how to keep the rhythm flowing and pronouncing my words all at the same time. The next obstacle I crossed was how to package my music and give it to the people. It took me studying the industry and taking notes from the legends in the game from Rakim to JayZ. I learned how to use my music as a vessel and take the listeners on a journey of good times. I have appreciated those obstacles and challenges because they made me a better Artist in the end.
We’d love to hear more about your music.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
My favorite memory as a kid was walking to blockbuster with my younger siblings and picking out movies to watch during the summer. It was never alot to do as a kid in St Louis. I guess that why it is so easy to get in trouble. So me and my sister, I would walk my baby brother to blockbuster to rent kid movies to get us through those summer days.
