Meet Justice Thomas of Justice Thomas Art

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justice Thomas.

Justice, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I discovered my gift of Art last year, September 3rd, 2017. During the time my passion and dream were playing football., but I was also kinda depressed at the time because I had recently left the school I was playing at due to personal reasons. While being at home one day, I was watching one of my favorite cartoons, “The boondocks,” and I decided that I was gone draw one of my favorite characters off the show because I was bored and said why not. I remember it was like a switch soon as I picked up the pencil, it was like I went to another world, and I was locked in so focus on something that I was just supposed to be doing for fun. From that day on my passion for football started making it way over to my hidden talent for art. After drawing cartoons for about a month, I started getting into realism and drawing portraits because I loved the way it challenges my eyes to locate and capture details and bring pictures to life on paper.

Has it been a smooth road?
I can say that some of the challenges that I had to overcome as an artist was being patient and managing my time with value. I can be hard on myself, because I am never satisfied with my work, and always feel there is room for improvement. I constantly have to remind myself that being great takes time, and I’m only one year in this journey.

Tell us more about your artwork.
I specialize mainly in Graphite/charcoal drawings from cartoon to realism life portraits. What sets me apart from others is me being able to capture the details in the little things. I always believed the little things that separate the goods from the greats.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about my city is that there is a lot of opportunities and events to help you network, being that it’s not too far of a drive from Dallas.
