Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Crawford.
Justin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been creating websites and developing marketing strategies for over 15 years. Starting out, I devoted most of my free time in high school to creating websites for fun. I didn’t set out to build a career developing websites; it was just something I loved doing. After earning a formal education at one of the top business schools in the country, Pepperdine University, I decided to combine my training with what I love doing and build a business around it. This led to the creation of Social Xccess in 2015.
Hundreds of projects later, Social Xccess still has the same passion for helping businesses grow online. Now with an extremely talented team, we have emerged as a leading agency in the digital marketing industry.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting out, being a young entrepreneur in the corporate environment was challenging because people sometimes equate experience with performance. Therefore, in order to build a portfolio, I had to do a lot of work for free. From providing free marketing services to non-profit organizations, churches, schools, and daycares, to speaking to my peers and students to share the things I’ve learned, a lot of time was spent working solely for the love and passion I have for seeing others succeed.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment in my career was being asked to speak at the 2019 National FinServ Expo. Sharing information and things I’ve learned is something I love to do, so being able to do it in front of hundreds of people in a convention center was extremely fulfilling.
