Meet Kamahl Dailey of Torn Vision in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamahl Dailey, co-owner of Torn Vision.

Kamahl, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started getting into fashion because I saw a pair of pants on a YouTube video I was watching and I liked them a lot. So, I tried to figure out where to get the pants, and that journey opened up another world to me. After that, I started taking pics and always trying to dress nice which leads to me now co-owning my brand now.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I guess the only struggle I could say I have is trying to network and expand the brand. Also since I and my brother work together on the brand we put our own money into everything we do, we make good money for ourselves but there are still resources out there we want. Eventually, we know we’ll get to where we want to be.

Please tell us about Torn Vision.
Right now, we just print and design T-Shirts but we’re trying to broaden what we sell such as pants, shirts, shoes, etc. That’s also what we’re most known for is our T-Shirts. What I’m most proud of is how we started this from the ground up and we’re only going up. The journey is crazy, I’m also really proud every time we have a drop it sells out. The creativity, and style that we have with clothing pieces is what sets us apart from others.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I don’t know probably playing video games.
