Today we’d like to introduce you to Kami Sims.
Hi Kami, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a model. I just never knew how to get into the industry. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry since I was able to work, and I was worried I’d never get out of the industry. One day I started doing research and finally got some insight on how to get started, so that’s where I am now! Just trying to learn the ropes and gain experience. I’ve lived in East Texas my whole life and have been traveling a lot to model. It’s been a lot of fun. I feel like every time I do a photo shoot, I gain so much experience. I’m blessed to be where I am today and to be in the position to chase my dream!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s has been smooth with just a few bumps. The main struggle is the traveling while working a full-time job. I work all week then travel on the weekends to model. But it’s worth every mile! Another struggle is the days when I don’t feel so confident but have to put on a brave face and serve confidence.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m currently a laser hair removal technician. I’ve been doing it for a few years now and it’s a lot of fun! When it comes to modeling, I’m most interested in print, glamour, high fashion, etc. I’m most proud of how far in life I’ve come. I came from nothing to having a big girl job and chasing my dream! I think what sets me apart from others is my bravery. Even in the scariest situations, I put my best face forward and hope for the best.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Dallas. There’s really not much I Don’t like about it. I can even deal with traffic! I’m from a small town where there’s nothing to do so being in the city brings me a lot of joy!
