Today we’d like to introduce you to Karynton Williams.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Karynton. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a young girl, I was always interested in fashion. Prior to knowing anything about a needle & thread, I was hot gluing everything together; cutting up my mom’s sheets & turning them into pleated skirts and taking old jeans and transforming them into purses. Hot gluing evolved to hand sewing, and when that got old, I taught myself how to use a sewing machine. After a couple of years of college & many outfits later, I launched KARYCHANEL in 2015.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting your own business is always going to bring many challenges and launching KARYCHANEL has been no different, naturally, you’re going to have your peaks and pits. Most of my struggles have been from wearing all the hats. Being the visionary, the designer, the photographer, creating my own website, and being the mastermind of the business blueprint.
KARYCHANEL – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
KARYCHANEL specializes in womenswear and is most known for its swimwear collection, although all my designs cater to making a woman feel better about who she is & what she’s wearing.
I’m most proud of the way KARYCHANEL is evolving. Experiencing something come to fruition that was just a mere dream is something very inspiring to witness.
I would hope that my hands-on approach is what sets me apart from anyone else.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment has been receiving orders internationally. Humbly speaking, I’ve received orders from Australia, Canada, Guam, New Zealand, Switzerland, and more, just to name a few. It’s my proudest moment because it lets me know that KARYCHANEL is expanding, not only domestically, but worldwide.
