Meet Kate Wagner of Campbell Wagner Runway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Wagner.

Hi Kate, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My career started in 1988 because I was lucky enough to be hired for the position to work for Kim Dawson personally.

She was the best mentor that I could have ever been blessed with. I started in this business as the runway booker for Kim Dawson. I had no idea exactly what it meant when I went to work for her but it ended up being the most amazing opportunity that life could offer. She has always been my business and personal idol in life. Even though she has passed away, I do hear her voice in my head, still guiding me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say that every day is smooth and that’s what makes it so rewarding. I have learned so much through the years and I continue to learn. Every day is different and even 30 years into this career, it’s still exciting and rewarding every day and really a lot of fun.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Campbell Wagner Runway?
I am the co-owner of Campbell. Wagner Runway. It is the runway divisions of The Campbell Agency, one of the largest and leading fashion and commercial modeling and acting/full service agencies in the southwest. We are located in Dallas Texas but are connected with other agencies and many clients all over the world. We have developed and represent some of the top models in the world. I joined forces with Nancy Campbell 12 years ago. She already had her very successful agency that she had need running for decades. She invited me to team up with her so that we could form a very successful runway division.

We have models walking the runways all over the world.

Nancy Campbell is another woman that I admire so much. She and Kim Dawson share so many of the same qualities as business women as well as being role models for so many for being such good role models. They have both touched so many lives, including mine. I’m very lucky to have worked with one and now working with the other. They are both incredible women.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Dependability and hard work. I have always been competitive but also never been one to shy away from what it takes to succeed. I like to think that I always will give my all to anything I have made a commitment to accomplishing.
