Meet Katherine Jones of Kommitted with Kat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Jones.

Hi Katherine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started with a simple decision to live a healthier lifestyle. Like many people, I was balancing a demanding career and realized I needed to be more intentional about taking care of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. What surprised me most was discovering that fitness didn’t have to feel like a chore. It could actually be fun, energizing, and something I looked forward to.

As I learned new ways to make movement enjoyable, I naturally wanted to share that with others. I started creating short workouts, teaching classes, and building a community where people could relieve stress, build confidence, and enjoy working out without feeling intimidated. My goal has always been to show that fitness can fit into real life and that consistency matters more than perfection.

Every opportunity and decision I’ve made since then has aligned with that purpose, to help people find joyful, sustainable ways to move their bodies and feel their best. Whether it’s through Kommitted with Kat, social media, or my live classes, each step has built on that mission. Looking back, it’s those intentional choices to stay committed to my purpose that have brought me to where I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of my biggest struggles has been battling imposter syndrome and comparing myself to others. For years, I was the person attending fitness classes and participating in fitness events, but stepping into the role of leading a class was completely different. It was the first time I was asking people to trust me as the instructor, and I definitely got in my own head at first. I would wonder if I was experienced enough, if people would show up, or compare my journey to instructors who had been doing it for years. But every time those thoughts crept in, I came back to my “why.” I wasn’t trying to be anyone else. I wanted to create a space where people could have fun, relieve stress, and feel stronger than when they walked in. That shift in mindset changed everything. I stopped measuring success by the number of people in the room and started measuring it by the impact I was making. If one person left feeling more confident, less stressed, or inspired to keep showing up for themselves, that was a successful class to me. I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t come before you start It comes from continuing to show up, staying committed to your purpose, and trusting that the people you’re meant to reach will find you.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m Katherine, the founder of Kommitted with Kat, a fitness brand built around one simple belief: when you commit to yourself, everything else begins to change. My mission is to help people build healthier lifestyles in a way that feels realistic, sustainable, and enjoyable. Not overwhelming.

At Kommitted with Kat, fitness is about so much more than physical results. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself, showing up consistently, and finding a community that encourages you every step of the way. Those values of commitment, growth, and community are at the heart of everything I do.

Right now, I teach strength training classes every Tuesday evening at JamBox Frisco, where my goal is to create an environment that feels welcoming, positive, and fun. I want people to walk in feeling like they’re working out with friends, not walking into an intimidating gym. We lift weights, challenge ourselves, laugh, dance, and celebrate every win together.

What sets Kommitted with Kat apart is that it’s inclusive and realistic. You don’t have to be the fittest person in the room to belong. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or have been working out for years, you’ll be challenged, supported, and encouraged at your own pace. My classes and content are designed for real people with real lives who want to feel stronger, healthier, and more confident.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built. It’s incredible to see people come back week after week, bring their friends, encourage one another, and genuinely enjoy moving their bodies. That sense of connection is something I never take for granted.

If there’s one thing I want readers to know about Kommitted with Kat, it’s that we’re building more than stronger bodies. We’re building healthier habits, lasting confidence, and a community where everyone is welcome. Because when you stay committed to yourself, amazing things can happen.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice is to just start. Don’t wait until you feel perfectly qualified or everything is figured out, because you’ll learn so much by taking action. Stay creative, stay curious, and never stop learning. Be open to new opportunities, feedback, and even unexpected detours as they often lead you exactly where you’re meant to be. Most importantly, don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Stay committed to your purpose, keep showing up, and trust that consistency will take you farther than perfection ever could.
