Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen and Loretta Zierhut-Santos.
Jaye Weiner started the studio back in 1991. Her first employee was Loretta Zierhut. When Jaye decided to move to California, she sold the business to Loretta and her sister, Kathleen. They bought J’s Art Studio in May of 2001.
J’s Art Studio is the oldest art studio of its kind in the Dallas area. They run all year around with Fall classes, Winter camps, Spring classes and Summer camps. They teach children ages 4+ and adult too!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It started off smooth… With the economy tanking in 2009, we struggled there for a few years – but the students never knew the difference.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with J’s Art Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We teach creative art classes in the far North Dallas for over 25 years! We introduce students to many different media such as clay, drawing, painting and sculpture. Our experienced, nurturing teacher’s guide the artist in small classes to help the student realize their true potential!
J’s Art Studio is known for our fun projects that teach the students the basics as well as problem-solving and technique. We encourage them to color outside the box!
Unlike other studios, we offer all media – including oils, paper mache and inks that might be too messy!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We want to grow the business to offer art classes for special needs children and adults as well as homeschooling classes.
