Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Blodgett.
Hi Kayla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started with an online boutique that I grew from scratch into a full-blown brand. Eventually, we opened a physical shop, and I absolutely loved my customers. That part—the connection, the loyalty, the community—meant the world to me.
But behind the scenes, I was doing it all:
Running the online store, fulfilling orders, managing inventory, designing graphics, creating social media content, building the website, answering messages, handling in-store traffic… everything. On top of homeschooling my kids and living a normal life.
And as much as I loved what I’d built, I was stretched way too thin. I was a one-woman show holding up an entire brand. I needed to clone myself. I kept trying to find someone who would put the same heart into my business that I did—but I couldn’t find that person. So I kept learning to do it all myself. Eventually, I had to close the shop, and that’s when I felt it… the heart of the boutique starting to fade.
At that point, I knew I wasn’t going to find someone to run my social media who understood the why behind the brand the way I did. Someone who genuinely cared. So I started learning everything I didn’t already know—diving deep into strategy, SEO, visibility, branding. Not just posting pretty graphics, but how to build presence with intention.
And even before that, people were always coming to me for advice—
Asking how to post, what to say, how to make their websites make sense, how to connect with their audience. I wasn’t offering services yet, but I was already guiding quietly behind the scenes.
So when I started transitioning out of the boutique, I knew exactly what I wanted to do next.
That’s when I created Coffee & Clarity Co.
A service-based brand with heart. One that offers strategy, social media management, SEO, and creative support—but does it from the perspective of someone who gets it. Someone who’s been there.
Now, I step into other small business owners’ worlds and help take the weight off their shoulders—the weight I remember all too well. I handle the parts that used to keep me up at night—social media, content strategy, SEO—so they can focus on what they love: running their business.
And I genuinely love my clients. I treat their businesses like my own because I know what it’s like to pour everything you have into something that matters. I celebrate every milestone with them—big or small. Watching their visibility grow, watching them hit goals they didn’t think were possible… that’s the best part of what I do.
Coffee & Clarity Co. isn’t just about content or captions—it’s about giving business owners their time, energy, and peace of mind back. And that means everything to me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. Smooth isn’t even in my vocabulary.
Moving from boutique life into the world of marketing felt like I’d just walked into a room where everyone was speaking ten different languages—and somehow, I was supposed to be fluent in all of them by the end of the week.
One of the biggest challenges early on was just staying sane while learning everything. Social media changes every other day. SEO is like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube that keeps re-scrambling itself. And marketing? It’s not a one-and-done kind of thing—it’s a living, breathing beast that evolves constantly.
So I studied, experimented, Googled my life away, failed, retried, and reminded myself (daily) that nobody truly has it all figured out. Especially not when Instagram decides that carousels are hot one week, and Reels are suddenly the only thing keeping your engagement alive the next.
I learned to track trends, read patterns, and stay up to date—daily—on what’s working, what’s not, and why. I figured out how to stay ahead of the shifts without getting swallowed by them. These days, I’m constantly researching and recalibrating. Because in this world, you can’t just “know it once.” You have to live in it.
Another challenge was building credibility in a new space. I had experience running my own business, but stepping into the role of service provider meant I had to earn trust all over again. I couldn’t just say “Hey, I know what I’m doing”—I had to show it. That was a little intimidating at times, but I trusted the process.
Clients started coming to me. They felt the difference in how I showed up. And every time I bring someone new on board, I show them exactly what I bring to the table. I treat their business like it’s mine—because I know what it takes to build something from scratch and hold it together with both hands.
But here’s the thing: I knew the stress my clients were feeling… because I’ve lived it.
I wasn’t just learning marketing—I was learning how to take weight off someone else’s plate without dropping it.
This isn’t a side hustle.
It’s not a passing phase.
This is my career.
And every time a client hits a milestone, feels seen in their brand again, or tells me, “I finally feel like I can breathe”—
…it reminds me exactly why I chose this path.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Coffee&Clarity Co.?
Coffee & Clarity Co. isn’t your average marketing service—it’s the secret weapon behind small businesses finally being seen, heard, and respected online.
I work with small business owners who are tired of posting just to post, running themselves ragged trying to stay “visible” while still not getting seen.
My job? To make sure your business doesn’t just look good—but gets found, gets shared, gets remembered… and most importantly, gets chosen.
That starts with visibility strategy rooted in actual data, not just vibes. I research your industry, study your audience, and use marketing psychology to build emotional connection and trust. Your content isn’t just aesthetic—it’s intentional. And your brand voice? That’s the magic we dial in so your people hear you—and feel seen.
But what most people don’t realize is that visibility doesn’t stop at Instagram. If you want to actually grow, you need to be showing up in more than one place—and that includes Google.
That’s where SEO comes in.
I specialize in helping small business owners get their websites found through smart, strategic search engine optimization. From keyword-rich product descriptions to metadata to blogs that rank, I build out your site with clarity, confidence, and content that helps you get seen long after you’ve logged off social media.
Because your website isn’t just a digital brochure—it’s your storefront.
And if no one’s finding it? You’re leaving money on the table.
Email marketing is part of that visibility ecosystem too. Because people don’t just wake up thinking about your business—you have to remind them. Pull them in. Create moments of connection. That’s what I help you build—through your entire marketing presence. From scroll-stopping content to open-worthy emails to a website that ranks when your ideal clients are searching.
What sets Coffee & Clarity apart is the mix of strategy and soul.
This isn’t some plug-and-play agency or mass template. I’m in it with you.
I get to know your world—your voice, your offers, your customers. Then I tailor everything—social, SEO, email, and beyond—to make sure your business gets seen and remembered.
Whether you’re just starting or scaling, I help you build a brand that works while you sleep.
Because visibility isn’t just about showing up.
It’s about connecting with your audience deeply enough to bring them back again and again.
I work with a wide variety of businesses, and no two strategies ever look the same—because they shouldn’t. I learn your world. Then I find ways to make your brand stand out in it.
To stop being overlooked.
To stop blending in.
To stop getting likes with no real traction.
I show you how to create content that not only performs—but moves people.
And the best part? Once we start working together, my clients all say the same thing:
“I finally feel like I can breathe.”
They’re less stressed. More confident.
More focused on the parts of their business they actually want to be in.
Marketing isn’t temporary. It’s not a phase.
It’s the voice of your business.
And I’m here to make sure that voice hits—with clarity and confidence—every single time.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck—not really. I believe in alignment, hard work, and showing up when it counts. I believe in listening to the nudge that says go here, talk to them, try this, and then following it with action. That’s how growth happens—not by chance, but by choice.
That said, some moments do feel divinely timed.
One of the biggest turning points in my business came when I connected with someone through a client—someone who had been in the marketing and SEO industry for over 17 years. He didn’t just validate what I was building; he was impressed by how much I had learned in just a few short months. That moment helped me realize: I know this stuff. I’m not just “figuring it out”—I’m strategic, I’m smart, and I’m already playing at a higher level than I gave myself credit for.
That connection became a catalyst. We trade knowledge—SEO, social media, industry insight—and it’s made both of us better at what we do. It reminded me how important it is to surround yourself with people who challenge you, expand your vision, and believe in your potential. You don’t grow in rooms where you already know everything. You grow when you sit at tables where everyone brings something powerful to share.
So no, I don’t owe anything to luck. But I give everything to alignment, determination, and the people who help sharpen the edges of who I’m becoming.
