Today we’d like to introduce you to Keetha Hanlin.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I joined Texas Vein and Aesthetics as a Registered Nurse and one of their expert partners in medical esthetics and cosmetic vein therapies. I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas Woman’s University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Then I attended El Centro College and earned my degree in Nursing, graduating in the top 10% of my class. I completed my aesthetics training at Ogle School of Esthetics by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences receiving an Outstanding Achievement award.

I have owned and operated a medical spa since 2002. I have integrated 10 years of Operating Room sales and education, 12 years of clinical experience working as a nurse educator, and a solid 17 years sales in capital equipment business development. I have trained and certified medical professionals across the nation on laser and radiofrequency devices, IPL, LHE, FRAXEL, Botox, injectable fillers, sclerotherapy, HydraFacial, microdermabrasion, and skin care. I continue to instruct and consult physicians and staff on sclerotherapy treatments. In total, I have 15 years of laser and injectable experience.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A challenge that I recognized at the beginning of opening our second location was ensuring our staff was delivering the same message – as I wanted to convey to create a certain culture. This became more of a challenge as we continued to grow and the message or shall I say mission statement was not being executed. My culture was not in place. I have since hired new individuals that represent the culture we want which has created a positive environment and have moved some of the existing staff in roles best suited to their strengths. Overall, if the culture you want for your business is not working, then fix it! If you don’t, your customers will sense it. For us, it’s about creating a very consistent positive experience when you do business with us.
