Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Barber.
Keisha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I love to work out and feel good in, but motivated in the things I wear. One day while reading the workout top, I was inspired with an idea to create my own. Within that small idea, I became more invested in finding another level of creativity of doing so with a brand by me. Small steps of shirts of my mine to family birthday apparel turned into a store and that is where I am today, being Royal ishh…
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In the beginning, the biggest challenge was how to start! I did not mind shadowing at a business and some were individuals I know, but the opportunity never presented itself. So it was very frustrating. Once I actually began to do my own research and developed a process that worked in my behalf, the hurdles became a stepping stone for each blessing.
Please tell us about Royal ishh…
Royal ishh is not only a brand but it’s who you are how you feel what you represent. Royal-ishh is a way of life a culture within its self. We are mainly known for high quality and customization tops in all sizes and bundles as well. At the moment, the fall/winter line is being worked on. There are also items that support the none stop fight for BLM. We also provide the tops for customers that want a more personal, close to heart item upon request. I believe that Royal ishh… is unique because it feels more like a family and a movement versus just another article of clothing.
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
Honestly, I am so excited about what is to come. There different pieces of clothing within the next year, it’s just going to be UH-MAY-ZING! Definitely, there is going to be a store front in the next five to ten years. The life of fashion changes day by day, so I plan to be the wave instead of riding it. I foresee collaborations with other local and mainstream brands as well. I am more excited for watching the growth of the brand and more people becoming part of the Royal ishh… family.
