Revivify Massage Therapy was birthed out of 2 transitions. A transition from the corporate world and a transition from the arts/professional dance teacher. Dancer and choreographer. I have, and continually, study under some of the best therapist instructors in the world. As a dance instructor, choreographer and dancer, I am very in tune with athletic individuals and those who place a lot of physical demands on their bodies. Just knowing how massage therapy helped me over many years to maintain a level of physicality, mental clarity and a healthy lifestyle, it allowed me to function at my best each and everyday. Being a recreational athlete and professional dancer, I have witnessed and experienced the negative effects on myself and others who do not allow the body the proper rest and attention that it needs. The results are always injuries, short and long term, chronic pain and decrease in production and performance.

I notice the increase of individuals who do not realize the benefits of regular massages, thus they are becoming too dependent on pharmaceuticals to mask the root cause of their issues or walking around wearing their pain like a “badge of honor.” My knowledge of the body, particularly the muscular system is my specialty. The demands of life and the fast pace of society have many stressed, anxious, depressed and a host of other emotional situations that is also detrimental to our well-being.

Because of the aforementioned physical and emotional factors, KCC (Keith Clark Collection) was birthed. I began introducing aromatherapy into the massage sessions. Using lotions, butters, natural plant and fruit essences, clients began to inquire about the various “scents” that were being used to relax, provide relief, rejuvenate and inspire them mentally, physically and emotionally. Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils and natural aromatic botanicals for psychological and physical well-being.

Many commercial and popular products are full of synthetic chemicals that may cause health issues for people down the line. Did you know that your skin absorbs close to 60% of what you put on it? Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road is only as smooth as the ride. There are definitely ups and downs in not only being an entrepreneur, but working for yourself. Your mind is constantly going. If you are truly devoted, you will find yourself researching your field, some of the industry’s best, learning business terms, handling the business aspect, trying to balance work life and personal life and organically growing as an individual and as a business.

It is definitely not for the faint of heart. But if you are built for it, the ups and downs will not deter your purpose.

Revivify Massage Therapy – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a Licensed Massage Therapist, I really try to focus on and get to the root of a client’s pain, discomfort. A lot of times, remedies are given to deal with the symptoms and most massage therapists become too comfortable and develop a “one size fits all” massage routine. Well, everyone client is not the same, even though the issues, injury, pain may be the same.

I have found that the same techniques do not work on everyone because the root cause of the pain/discomfort may be different. Sometimes the pain/discomfort is due to injury, old or new. Other times the pain/discomfort may be due to repetitive motions or poor posture. Another time, the pain may be rooted from emotional or psychological stress. With all of that being said, none of my clients experience the same type of massage, even if they have been coming to me for years. I am humbled by my gift of discernment to ask the questions needed to reach a resolution or to expose the root cause of a client’s issues and having the ‘know how” to rectify them. I also believe in personal responsibility so I have no problem equipping my clients with “homework” to place the responsibility of their well-being in their hands.

Creating the KCC line of aromatherapy inspired products has been a huge assistance as well. The KCC line provides a natural approach to healing as nature is the best way to improve mental, physical and emotional ailments. KCC has been properly researched and every scent created in common products are thoroughly vetted and the feedback and reviews from customers reinforces me every time someone shares their admiration after using the products.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is knowing that I have given 100%+ more to my craft. Success is knowing that I am walking in my purpose. It is not always in the banking accounts, but in the reassurance from those who I have been blessed with the task of improving their well-being, even if it is a little bit.
