Meet Shelia Williamson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelia Williamson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been teaching for years and felt as though, I wanted to enter my true passion which is being a Realtor. Both careers afford me the opportunity to serve, give back to others, and seeing them feel that they have accomplished a goal to continue growing in life.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Real estate is definitely not an easy road. Real estate is a self-starting business that cost time, tears, laughter and money. Individuals think that Real estate is about showing homes only. There’s a lot of behind the scenes. I have to create my own ads, you have to buy signage. The struggles are daily with real estate. The struggles that I have faced is keeping clients encouraged who may not have met credit requirements, and informing them that home buying a process and takes time. Other struggles included clients wanting to see homes prior to being pre-approved.

I am with Keller Williams DFW – Preferred the #1 real estate company. I specialize in introducing people to houses until they find the one they love. As a company, I am most proud of the fact that I treat people and educate people about the home buying process as well as the selling process. What set me apart from others is that I treat people how I want to be treated, and treat them as people, not transactions.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is assisting others in reaching for their goals and accomplishing them.
