Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Green.
Kelly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We are a family band from the east coast. We found our way to Texas about 7 years ago.
We traveled around and created new music for a few years when we found our bass player on Craigslist. We continued traveling and playing all over Texas and parts of the US.
During that time we released two albums and are currently about to go back into the studio and record our 3rd.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a full-time musician is always interesting. The struggles of the road are the wear and tear of your gear and wear and tear of your body. We’ve gone through one RV, 3 vans, and a trailer traveling around.
We do our best to stay fit and healthy when we’re surrounded by alcohol and cheap food. We have found the gas stations with the best snacks, and we’ve perfected ways to cook healthy meals in hotels using just one skillet.
Please tell us about The Texas K.G.B.
The Texas K.G.B. (Kelly Green Band) is a family band that produces high energy shows with a variety of original music. Fronted by two strong female musicians, all four members of the band write and sing giving them a unique blend of songs and sounds.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite childhood memories was hanging out with my younger brother, our drummer, and listening to KISS on the album while using wiffle ball bats as “guitars” and dancing around the living room pretending we were on stage.
