Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Warner. Kendra was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Jeanette Berry.
Kendra, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hello, first thank you for allowing me to share my story. As a child, I always knew I wanted to do something in healthcare I just could not put my finger on what it was. I started volunteering at a Dallas Hospital from 14 to 18 years old and after college I began working as a CNA and clinical secretary in the ER, labor and delivery, postpartum. After 12 years of that, as much as I loved the moms and babies, I still couldn’t scratch that itch. Finally went back to school and now I’m a National Registered and State of Texas Emergency Medical Technician! Now I’m honored to go out and help our community in need on what seems like their worst day. During that time I had two wonderful daughters. Tympriss now 16 and Taylor 7, and I look forward to watching them develop into amazing business women.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I take pride in serving our communities, whether it’s on an ambulance or on deployment during a natural disaster. I, also started a new venture over the last year building a business in finance and life insurance. This also gives me great pleasure in educating and protecting our communities with financial concepts and building generational wealth.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Jeanette Berry and Operation Community Care Inc and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Operation Community Care Inc.
Oh My…Where do I start? Jeanette, let’s just say is a BLESSING to my girls, the community, and me. I met Jeanette about 10/11 years ago at a back to school event. I saw her at her booth not knowing what she was doing or selling, but something just felt right in my spirit. I went to her and asked if she knew of a big sister program for my oldest daughter, who was 6 years old then, but she said “not that I know of”. I was like okay well I tried. She then proceeded to ask what exactly was I looking for the big sister to do. So I explained to her that I worked so much just to pay the bills and I couldn’t afford or had the time I would have liked, to do certain things with her. When I tell you I had tears in my eyes after she said ” Can I be her big sister?” From that point on, Jeanette has been there every step of the way. My way of trying to repay her was to volunteer, anything she had going on, if I was off work we were there. Once Taylor was born she knew the meaning of giving back because from the time she starting walking she was right there passing out gifts to other kids or helping wrap gifts. Jeanette you are a BLESSING TO MY FAMILY and many many other families, I am honored to work on side of you to give back to our communities. Thank you❤
