Keneshia, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my company/brand The crazy crab pot April 10th, 2020 with my last $100 and two regular loyal customers a week I quit my job of five years in December 2019 I had to manifest on my dreams of owning my business and it all happen so fast I was shocked I became better every day I’m a self-taught chef no culinary school or training. I grew by word of mouth in Frisco Texas. I had this one great customer Dan who gave me an exceptional review after his first time trying my food and the next thing I know, I got a lot of orders the next day!!! From that one review, I grew and grew bigger by word of mouth. I’m originally from Savannah, Georgia but have been in Dallas Texas for ten years I have been working on my craft of cooking for years until I got better and became the best at it. I was actually trying to go to college and be a nurse but God had other ans and turned me towards cooking and I have been following the path of being a chef.
Has it been a smooth road?
So far, it has been a smooth road. The only bump I have had was when I first started I got so busy I didn’t expect all those orders to come flying in and I did not have help in the beginning but now I have structure and discipline with my business. Being a business owner, you will fire and re-hire yourself at least 30 times a day 😂 But it’s rewarding at the end of the day knowing your business made it another with success and happy customers.

I specialize in seafood cusines. I make all my sauces and seasonings from scratch I’m mainly known for the sauce I put on my crab legs. I’m proud of my company in how many ways it has grown. We have a great diverse of clients from every aspect and I’m able to run this business by myself everyday counts as growth. What sets my company apart is my company is a self-starter business from the ground up with my own money. I did not receive any grant help or loan help.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about Dallas is you can grow its so many ways to make money in Dallas it’s crazy I love the energy from the people in Dallas what I like least about Dallas is the traffic lol and it’s easy to get lost using GPS lol.
