Meet Keyana Allen of Kreative Killz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyana Allen.

Keyana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always been a computer geek. As a child starting in probably elementary, I was one of those kids that were always glued to a computer screen. It started with messing around with the basic paint feature that comes on every computer. I always had a passion for art and the way individual colors flowed together to make one beautiful visual. I use to try to recreate illustrations out of my favorite books.

As time went on, I discovered photoshop. This was around the time of the MySpace days I came across a website where you could create your own layouts and I feel in love with the idea. That’s really where all the knowledge and real passion started. From that point on, I became inspirited to do more with this passion. I started creating graphic pictures for all my friends the reactions I would get in return only added fuel to my fire. I loved the fact that my work could actually make someone’s day. So I decided to dedicate my time to making people feel great with my work and here we are today.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I don’t think anything in life is. I taught myself everything I know. With anything regarding the design or the art, trends change like the seasons, so once you learn one new way of designing and you get comfortable with you, another one comes along and you have to be able to be ready for another ride in educating yourself. And as your business grows, so will your clientele. It comes with long nights and early mornings. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Please tell us about Kreative Killz.
The name of my business is Kreative Killz. The name of my business comes from my goal to execute every creative vision with the same amount of passion or even more than the last. I am a graphic designer I specialize in custom logos, digital flyers, and business card designs. I’m known for my use of vibrant colors. I’m most proud of how far I’ve actually come with being self-taught. I feel like what sets me apart is my creative vision and drive to actually want to make the work my clients bring to me differently than anything could have imagined.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
This has been my proudest moment by far. Getting recognized for the work that I do.
