Meet Kimberly Cobb of KiCarCo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Cobb.

Kimberly Cobb

Hi Kimberly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
The idea for this clip collection began while walking alongside my mom after she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Although my secondhand observations are far different from someone personally going through this battle, I still am able to experience a glimpse of the hardship and pain. I witnessed what it is like for a woman to lose her hair due to chemo/cancer treatments. I became more aware of things I previously took for granted, like brushing an annoying hair knot out, curling my hair, or putting a hair clip in. Thus, the idea for this clip collection started. These clips stand as reminders to pray for our family and friends going through battles against cancer and to be thankful we have hair to put up or pull back with a clip. The clips have different sayings, but the main collection clips are engraved with “thankful I can” (“thankful I can” clip back my hair). The original pink one is in honor of breast cancer and is dedicated to my mom as she inspires and motivates me daily to live each day to the fullest, pray for others constantly, and to make a change in the world in any way I can. Since starting, I have had wonderful opportunities, such as being a part of cancer fundraisers, being in stores for pop-up events throughout Dallas/Plano, and meeting so many amazing people and hearing their stories. The website for further information is KiCarCo.com & Instagram is @kicarco. A portion of the profits is going toward cancer research. So, Let’s Clip it for a Cure!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am thankful for all the family and friend support I have received since starting. However, there have been ups and downs that come with starting something from the ground up, even if just a small business. There is so much to learn and actions that have to be taken that I did not realize when just coming up with the initial idea. I have grown so much in my knowledge of the business world through this experience, so I am grateful for that (and especially for my dad, who has provided so much guidance in navigating this!).

There also has been the struggle of trying to be positive about my clips and towards others I meet, when our family personally is at times going through hard struggles with my own mom’s cancer battle. However, I try to just be in continued prayer during this time, relying fully on the Lord to help me be a positive light for Him in the best way that I can!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I think what sets KiCarCo apart is the fact that it is an accessory item that is a constant reminder for people about an issue that impacts everyone, whether that is directly or indirectly, as everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer in some form. Our pieces are items that can be worn to not just enhance yourself and focus on how you look but to take the focus off ourselves and be reminders to be grateful for our health and pray for others. It is a reminder that we can work together to help clip it for a cure. Together, we can be united in this fight against cancer. It is a reminder that you are not alone if you personally are going through this battle or if you have a mom, family member, or friend going through this battle. It is a reminder of hope and push to raise funds, awareness, and prayers so that a cure for cancer can be found and lives restored!

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a big dreamer! I still am today, and this is what I think helped me dream up this idea and the drive that I could have my own small business. I have always deeply loved my family, as they are the world to me! This is why I wanted something I did to mean something special to my family and be for a purpose of bettering others and the world.
