Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Fenner.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After working an 8-5 most of my life, I had gotten to a point in my life that I needed to do something that I could really be passionate about doing. As I searched for my own sense of balance, I realized that while working in the corporate world I was so stressed that it literally made me sick at times. As I begin my search for my passion, I realized that I could be passionate about helping others with their stress and develop a sense of balance in their lives. This put me on a search for how I could accomplish that task. I thought of things that made me feel less stressed and more balanced and massage therapy was at the top of that list. So I searched for a school that was suitable and embarked on learning this amazing craft. The body is Amazing. Once I started learning about all the benefits of massage, I knew this would be my passion. I like helping people realize a better state of health and wellness or balance in their lives. Through Massage Therapy. Once I completed my initial education in Massage Therapy, I started working my craft and was told numerous times that I had a gift. This made me even more dedicated to helping people with this gift. I started outcalls and working from my home, then was introduced to an amazing woman who opened the door for me to build my business within her Salon, The Mansion on Park Row. The Mansion’s Spa is where I continued to build my business for 2 years. However, I always wanted my own a standalone Spa and was in the process of searching for the right building. In the interim, I was lead to move to my current location at 1104 W Pioneer Pkwy., Ste. 300 in Arlington, TX. It’s all about Balance, and I’ve never felt as Balanced as I do right now in my lifetime. I always try to see the good in everything and make the best of any situation. I am currently working to expand my practice to specialize in Orthopedic Massage. You only get one body, so taking care of it should be our top priority.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t look at it as much as a struggle, as I do a blessing. As the owner of a small business, it’s just necessary growing pains. I wear many hats on a daily basis and my day doesn’t end when we close. I am the owner, license massage therapist, manager, receptionist, marketing manager, graphic designer, etc… It can be a little overwhelming at times, but I look at the bigger picture and my overall goals for the business. As a wife and mother, I try not to take my work home. However, that is not always the case. Thankfully I have a supporting family who sees the bigger picture as well.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I just know that everything that has happened in my life has made me the person I am today and I like me. So, I’m not sure that I would have done anything differently.
