Today we’d like to introduce you to Kore’al Boyland.
Kore’al, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a supervisor bank teller who was laid off in 2015. All 2015 I had no job. Started doing my own hair to interview for other jobs. Friends and people of the public started asking who did my hair and of course, I would say myself… which then led to them asking if I could do their hair. So 2016 came and I slowly started to perfect my craft by going to cosmetology school and doing my friends and sisters’ hair to showcase my work in the meantime. By this time, I gave up looking for a job and started to build my clientele. I worked in the kitchen of my mother’s home from 2016-2017 and my success evolved from there. Within a year I opened up my shop and became HairDeKor. Bought my name, bought my salon equipment, and opened up HairDeKor Studios in 2018. By 2019 I got my first celebrity client and have done 3more since then. I’m currently the owner of HairDeKor Studios and EnKor Extensions a beauty salon and Hair Extensions and Hair Essentials company.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of the struggles along the way were maintaining a lifestyle during Covid because for me if I don’t go to work, I make no income. So, I had to mastermind a way to continue servicing my clients while following the state emergency guidelines of Covid-19. By doing that we masked up, sanitized before and after each client per usual, minimized the amount of clients we serviced each, checked temperatures, and rescheduled anyone who had symptoms of the Coronavirus.

We are not just the home of celebrity clients but also the everyday people in the community who desires to leave feeling like a celebrity.
We are mostly known for our creative wig styles and colors.
We specialize in all things extensions and promote healthy hair growth as well such as wigs, sew-ins, tape-ins, micro links, quickweaves, natural hairstyles, and silk presses.
I am mostly proud of reaching my A-List clients within only a year of being a professional hairstylist.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Being in hair shows and photo shoots with my big cousin, with my mom as the hairstylist
