Today we’d like to introduce you to KP Patel.
KP, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a pharmacist for over 30 years and with a large chain drugstore for over 15 years. I started to see the loss of truly getting to know my patients with the large chains and 6 years ago left to start my own pharmacy that would focus on the patient first. With hard work and following a simple vision to take care of our patients like family we expanded to the Frisco area from Sherman, Texas.
Has it been a smooth road?
It is hard being the little guy in an industry that is controlled by a few large players that have endless resources. The most common questions we get is, “Do you take my insurance?” and “Is my Co-Pay going to be the same?” The answer is yes. We accept most all major insurance plans. In addition, we take better care of our patients health than most other strictly volume driven pharmacies by making sure they are taking their medication properly and it is the right medication for them.

What set us apart from all other pharmacies are we are focused on getting to know our patients and taking care of them as an individual and not a prescription number. We are also a compounding pharmacy. A compounding pharmacy is a special pharmacy where the pharmacist works from a prescription generated by a doctor, dentist or other practitioner to combine specific ingredients in exact strength and dosage forms that have been precisely tailored to the individual. In addition, ReNue RX is a full scale community pharmacy that provide traditional as well as compounded medications.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that we are the center of everything right now. Great food and entertainment and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. I believe that Frisco is going to be the STAR of Texas with all the great things coming here.
