Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris Williams and Danni James.
Kris and Danni, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We met 6 years ago through sharing mutual friends on FaceBook. Basically one of us reached out to the other one asking if they wanted to get together jam. Since then we have released 2 albums, played all over DFW, toured through California, performed on Good Morning Texas and opened at the Fort Worth Convention Center. We are best friends doing what we love together. We’re always having fun and pushing ourselves to take the next steps in our career.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the things we always try to remember is that we are LUCKY to be fulfilling our passion alongside each other and to always have fun.
Anytime we face any struggles or disagreements we try our hardest to communicate through the problem and compromise. We treat our band like a marriage haha but it works!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Danni & Kris story. Tell us more about the business.
We play and write indie-pop music in a girl duo band. You can either catch us playing in a local bar as an acoustic act or on stage at an event rocking out with our full band. We love to play covers that everyone knows and putting our own spin on each song. One thing we are mainly known for is our harmonies, which we work really hard on perfecting. There aren’t many bands that we see doing the same thing that we are doing and we try to make our performances and unique as possible.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We’ve been very fortunate with good luck and also not setting any crazy expectations on ourselves. We just have fun, work hard, and whatever comes our way we don’t take it for granted! We’ve definitely started to see our hard work pay off and had some cool opportunities come our way.
