Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Larkin.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kristen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began working as the Event Director at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in 2012. I knew I had a passion for helping people with their events, however until I began my work as the Event Director I had no idea how that passion would fuel my work and bring me such joy. Now almost 6 years later I am able to assist in making clients special days and events happy, joy-filled days.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Creating a unique event or wedding for each client can be a challenge. Not only transforming spaces into what the client envisioned but also working with a campus-wide calendar at times can create a very dynamic, logistical timeline.
However, working with an amazing team has enabled me to confidently navigate through the many events happening on any given weekend.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Lovers Lane United Methodist Church – what should we know?
I work with weddings and corporations to create and execute their vision, however, weddings are my specialty. From the inquiry stage to the day of – I work hand in hand with the couple to capture the feel and vision of their wedding. I am very proud of my team – we work together to allow the couple and family members be present on their special day. We take care of all the details and allow the client to enjoy their time.
What sets us apart from other venues is our flexibility. We allow the couples to choose their wedding ceremony time – not set times. We have many venues to choose from – very traditional to contemporary.
Great parking and we are located very close the Tollway; just minutes from Downtown Dallas. Our campus has wonderful outside areas for pictures and the couple may use the space for their engagement sessions.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Commitment! Once a client has decided to work with me – I am committed to their wedding/event to the very last detail.
