Meet Kristin Ammon of Scout Design Studio in Design District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Ammon.

Scout began out of a passion for all things vintage and design. Tiffany (a self-proclaimed furniture shopaholic) traveled the country scouting and building up her collection of vintage finds. She quickly ran out of space for her treasures, and this prompted her to get a 14,000-square-foot space in the Design District to house her pieces and refinish them. Flann (Tiffany’s lifelong best friend) quickly came on board to help run the business with her. In house upholstery, carpentry and refinishing services were added to the mix, and four years later, here we are!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Keeping up! Our private label designs are produced in limited runs so our inventory moves quickly and is constantly changing. This is true for our vintage collections as well since most pieces are rare and often one-of-a-kind.

Please tell us about Scout Design Studio.
There are proud moments every day in a small business. From wrapping up an incredible photoshoot to designing the next collection, no two days are alike. We are very proud of our overall growth and the client base we have established all over the world.

We design, manufacture and retail our product. There is no middle man (wholesaler) so we are able to offer refined designs and great quality at aggressive prices.
