Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Witmer.
Hi Kristina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in Maryland and having moved around often as a child, I ended up going to college at University of Texas at Arlington and then immediately launching my career in advertising upon graduation. Once I started working in advertising agencies in Dallas, I became integrated into the community here and have been in the area ever since.
Working my way up in a few agencies I eventually got an opportunity to switch from client/account service into a digital strategy role. This led the way to an immersion into digital trends, website tactics, and ultimate social media efforts as it relates to corporate marketing.
Approximately 14 years ago I left the agency world and accepted the title of business owner. First as a partnership and then ultimately leading my own firm.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s funny, no matter how often you look back and think ‘I really learned a lot from that experience, I bet I’ve got it all figured out now’ there’s always a new challenge that comes my way. That’s the one consistent thing in today’s business world – change comes at you from all angles.
There have been several challenges along the way. Mostly with how to manage a growing team and how to get the most from my team while balancing workflow and cash flow. Knowing when to lean into growth and act conservative is the most challenging issue I find. And, with recent changes with pandemics, supply chain challenges, and employee morale this is even harder to plan ahead and predict.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Witmer Group?
Witmer Group has been through a decade of evolutions all while holding true to the core values of our own integrity and trying to prioritize the human element in our business. Our humanity drives our client relationships, the emotion we feel as campaigns and plans take effect, the way we communicate and prepare clients for campaign risk and expectations, and the way we report results of strategies that have been implemented.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Early in Witmer Group’s growth, I worked closely with Rebecca Bell Wilson who was on of our lead marketing client strategists. She demonstrated the utmost integrity and professionalism in all of her efforts and also brought an elevated process which drove creativity and results.
Choosing the right team members and partners early on, as well as clients can set the stage for your company’s growth and culture. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the people connected to me and the company early on.
