Kwabena, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Scented Little Moments started when I was about 17. I started making candles as just as my crafty side was blossoming and damaged my mother’s table cloth so I was asked to place my hobby at the time in the garage. Fast forward a few years, While taking a trip with a few friends, I was inspired by some scents on vacation and that holiday season, I made candles as gifts. My friends were so amazed by their gifts they encouraged me to make candles and start a business. As they pushed my business that became the official birth of Scented Little Moments.

Scented Little Moments is a home fragrance company specializing in Candles, Wax Melts, Reed Diffusers, Room sprays and more to come. By creating unique and customs scents it allows customers to feel their home has a unique scent catered to their mood and personality. I am most proud of how loved my products are received by customers.
They are loyal to the brand and make sure they inform the ones close to their hearts about Scented Little Moments. Covid-19 changed the way we shop and explore new favorites; so to sell candles without having people smell or have an idea what it may offer is a big trusting step that I don’t take for granted. Fragrances set the mood for relaxation. You want it to feel welcoming to your energy and make your guest find comfort in the selection you chose as well. So I am most proud of the love and support I am receiving!
Has it been a smooth road?
Some struggles I faced was just educating myself on small business needs. It hasn’t been a tough road due to allowing myself to receive all feedback, good and bad to make adjustments for continuous growth. My family, friends and customers are always welcomed to tell me things they enjoy so I can continue or expand on it and dislike so I can adjust seek a better way to fulfill of their needs.
Networking and collaborating with interior decorators, event planners & photographers opened my company into many homes. Making momenta to add a special & personalized touch is always something I look forward to help create.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas is an amazing city! Growing fast and a melting pot of so many cultures to explore and people to get to know. A smile and friendly demeanor can spark so many conversations. I’ve met so many interesting people just browsing the aisle at the supermarket for tea. I’ve made business connections on flights. Best place to guide you are groups are looking to help young business owners network. Networking isn’t about just moving up but making connections that can help grow together!
