Today we’d like to introduce you to Lana Phangurah.
Lana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, I had severe acne and hyperpigmentation, which affected my confidence as a child. I read about treatments and skincare that could help prevent and diminish my acne and hyperpigmentation. As soon as I turned 18, I purchased treatments at a local medical spa.
During the course of my treatments, I would ask several questions to my provider and was fascinated by the process and loved the boost of confidence I had after my skin concerns were resolved, which initiated my passion for the aesthetic field. I Initially attended college for Nursing and decided to take a semester off to attend Aesthetic Laser Academy. While attending Aesthetic Laser Academy, I discovered my true calling was in the medical aesthetic field. I loved learning everything about treatments and truly related to my clients and the concerns they had as I was once in their place. After some time, I decided to pursue a career in the aesthetic field full time.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I was blessed to have amazing opportunities right out of school. After working at a medical spa, I went on to teach at Aesthetic Laser Academy. Every Medical Spa/Clinic I worked at I was able to add on to my skill set and learn so much more. The aesthetic field is always revolving and there is always so much to learn!

I recently opened my own medical spa after being in the industry for about five years! We specialize in treatments customized to each and every client, keeping their skin tone, concerns in mind while providing results-oriented treatments. Every skin is different and can not be treated the same. At Minx Med Spa, we do many combination
treatments. Utilizing different platforms to target several concerns to provide amazing results within 1 to 2 treatments. It definitely means a lot to us, our clients trust us with their skin.
