Today we’d like to introduce you to LaNise Walker.
LaNise, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born & raised in Detroit, MI and I have always been infatuated with fashion. As an only child, I used to entertain myself by dressing paper dolls and collecting pictures of shoes and apparel from magazines. I also loved going shopping to buy new clothes!! While in college, I personally styled my friends. I was known for my unique style and wearing eye-catching shoes and accessories. I have always loved looking “well put together.”
I packed up and moved to Dallas in 2010 and was inspired to open ChicPlus in 2012. This was an online fashion boutique geared toward chic and age-appropriate plus size clothing options. The boutique dissolved because at that time, there were minimal options for plus size vendors. The clothing I found was frumpy and mature; I wanted my brand to reflect my style.
I established Goody2Shoes Mobile Boutique in 2015 and dawned a new approach to shopping for shoes and accessories in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My personal mantra is “anything worth having, is worth working for.’ When I opened Goody2Shoes, there weren’t many mobile boutiques in Dallas, maybe two or three, but none were for shoes. I spent countless hours doing research about boutiques, food trucks, boats, and interior design. These are all areas that were new to me, so I spent time taking notes, watching videos and webinars, talking to people and asking questions. Some business owners were happy to help, others weren’t as forthcoming. I think my biggest struggle was creating something that I saw in my head but wasn’t sure how to materialize it. I’ve birthed something that no one in Dallas has ever seen, so I’m proud to say that I created the blueprint in 2015 that I can now re-create again and again!

Goody2Shoes Mobile Boutique has brought a new meaning to fashion-on-demand. We are DFW’s first mobile shoe boutique, “Delivering Style to your Sole.” We offer eye-catching shoes and accessories to the confident, trendsetting faSHOEnista.
Goody2Shoes Mobile Boutique will come to your business, private event, home, etc. and provide a unique shopping experience!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I loved shopping for new clothes, playing dress-up, and looking through magazines.
