Laquita, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
We are an experienced Tax, Credit, and Financial Firm with over seven years of experience serving in the Dallas Metroplex area. What started the idea was helping family, friends and referred individuals on tax preparation. We soon started the process for opening a business and calling it First Step Tax Services in 2014 which was located in South Dallas and quickly grew our firm through word of mouth. In 2018, we decided to take the leap and restructure and expand our services to offer Credit Education and Tax Preparation year-around, including bi-weekly credit workshops and year-around bookkeeping for Small Businesses. Q&S Financial Services is committed to serving families and small businesses with intentional, customer-focused proven results.
Has it been a smooth road?
The process for starting the business, locating an office and becoming certified and credentialed was the easier part of breaking into this industry. The most difficult part was the marketing, getting individuals to trust the knowledge and skills that I obtained, which would be beneficial to them in the future. We most definitely had support from close family and friends, that would send individuals our way for assistance. With adding credit restoration and workshops, we knew this would be where the most hard work would come in. We started out offering the services free of charge until we built confidence in our clients that we are 100% committed to helping them achieve financial abundance and results. With illegal competitors out, Q&S is up for the challenge to prove to the community that we are a credentialed and IRS approved Tax Professional and Certified Credit and Credit Score Consultant.

Yes, Dallas is definitely the city to start a small or large business. We have so many opportunities to expand and partner with some amazing individuals. There are tons of free resources and mentoring programs all across the DFW. As a bonus, we have the Dallas Cowboys which is one of the largest and most popular sports franchises.
