Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Snyder.
Thanks for sharing your story with us, Lauren. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Many years ago, I worked for a start-up skincare company that became very well known for selling top-notch products through plastic and cosmetic surgeons’ offices. Learning from the founder was like getting a graduate degree in skincare. I worked hard to understand what it takes to get great looking, glowing skin.
Motherhood and moving took me away from my career. Wherever we landed, I’d get questions and compliments about my skin. In my late teens, I struggled with cystic acne and was prescribed Accutane, so I could relate to people’s skin struggles. I decided to create Beauté Barre to share my knowledge and experience to help my clients to get the skin they want and deserve! It’s what gets me out of bed in the morning.
Has it been a smooth road?
Oh, it definitely has had its ups and downs, but that’s part of being self-employed. There have been lots of tears and frustration, but also lots of fantastic support and encouragement from clients, friends, and family. As a start-up, finding the right space in the Park Cities has probably been my biggest challenge to date. I’m grateful for all that I learned, but I know there are more lessons to come!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Beauté Barre story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m in the skin beautification business! Successfully treating skin requires understanding that what shows up on the surface is directly tied to what is happening in and under the skin itself. I address and fix the problems that cause you to not like what you see when you look into the mirror.
I specialize in successfully treating scars, pigmentation, dehydration, inflammation, loss of elasticity, wrinkles and aging, acne and rosacea. I’m most proud of how I serve my clients. It’s an honor to be entrusted with someone’s face or someone’s body. I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they see their results!
When we first meet, we go through a consultation process. It’s really a conversation where we talk about what you want to change about your skin, what you’ve tried in the past, what you’re using at home and what you want your skin to look like… I don’t do relaxation or general cosmetic style facials as they only create temporary changes, such as mild hydration or minimal exfoliation. Nor do I use radical chemical peels or laser vaporization which forever disrupt how cells are organized and come with downtime and risk. Instead, I work with the internal structures and functions of the skin to bring it back to a healthy, vibrant state.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The big changes we’re seeing and we’ll continue to see for the next 5-10 years are the med spas making their way into upscale shopping centers. Women are proud of the fact that they take care of themselves and don’t mind people seeing them walking into medspas for their injectables or laser treatments. The same can be said for large dermatological practices, which are very interested in honing in on the beauty/anti-aging market.
We believe the opportunity for us is to expand our reach by getting real lasting results using non-invasive techniques that stimulate the skin’s natural healing responses!
