Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurette Mesure
Hi Laurette, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
A Congolese lady born with a natural eye for style, fashion was my path in life and still is to this day. I love fashion and fashion loves me back.
Fashion showed confidence, showed me strength and showed me what free gift I had given to me. Fashion showed that there was a goal too big or impossible that I couldn’t teach.
Fashion showed me a woman who can
carry herself with class, noise and grace.
But my real dream was to help women find their own style and confidence. So, I created my online boutique and personal styling business, “Laurette Mesure ”, to offer consultations and personalized styling services.
Today, I am lucky enough to work with incredible clients, helping them discover their inner and outer beauty through fashion. It’s a dream come true!
This brand was inspired by pain. So, I 1 channeled all my pain to work. I can walk into a room and radiate my presence, a woman who was deserving of every great thing she wanted in life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t always been smooth!
As a dresser, I encountered several difficulties:
1. Conquer the trust of clients: some were afraid to change their style or felt vulnerable in the face of my advice.
2. Adapt to different styles and body shapes: each client is unique, we had to find the right balance to highlight their assets.
3. Deal with trend pressure.Stay up to date with the latest fashions while encouraging customers to find their own style, not just follow trends.
4. Manage criticism and failures: some clients were not satisfied with my advice, we had to learn from these experiences and improve.
5. Balancing creativity and budgetary constraints:offering stylish solutions while respecting client budgets.
But every difficulty has helped me grow and improve my art!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a fashion model, and personal Stylsit who own an online boutique in Africa- Kinshasa.
I’m most proud of seeing my clients beam with confidence after our styling sessions!
This shows me that my work goes beyond just fashion, it transforms their lives.
What sets me apart from other dressers:
1. My holistic approach:I consider not only physical appearance, but also the personality, values and goals of my clients.
2. My passion for French fashion: my cultural heritage inspires me to create elegant, sophisticated and timelessly chic looks.
3. My active and empathetic listening: I take the time to understand my clients, their needs and their dreams to offer them personalized advice.
4. My creativity without budget limits: I find stylish solutions for all budgets, from luxury to affordable.
5. My commitment to women’s empowerment: my work aims to unlock the confidence and inner beauty of my clients, beyond fashion alone.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I started by helping close friends improve their wardrobe and their self-confidence.
2. I have invested years studying fashion and human behavior to understand how fashion can transform people’s lives.
3. My business was born out of a personal passion to help others discover their own beauty and confidence, beyond my own transformation.
