Thanks for sharing your story with us Leah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey to lashing was by chance and not at all what I thought I would be doing today. I grew up in Burleson, TX. I attended college briefly but didn’t have a clear career path set, so I became a waitress/bartender. Years after doing this work, I knew I needed a change but didn’t quite know what that would be. A family friend, who was a lash artist, suggested I come out and see what lash extensions were all about. I was completely clueless and had no idea what lash extensions were!! I visited her shop and fell in love! I knew then that’s what I needed to do. I rose to the top as a master stylist within the first two years. My career has lasted over ten years and I continue to learn daily new techniques and new ways to lash my clients. Just last year I opened up Lash House with my two business partners and life and business couldn’t be any better!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The art of lashing came very easy to me. Learning new and innovative techniques can always be challenging, especially with a tedious job of applying lash extensions. I love the challenge and love learning to better my craft. The road is never smooth when you’re striving to be the best and at the top of your field. I’ve welcomed every struggle along the way because I know it has always made the artist I am today.
Please tell us about Lash House.
I am an owner of Lash House. We specialize in classic and volume lash extensions, as well as lash and brow tinting and lash lifting. I believe our attention to detail sets us apart from other lash artists. We strive to keep the health of the natural lashes intact for as long as you decide to wear extensions. Lash House provides the best quality extension products along with the best glue to use on our clients. We train and practice outside of work on a daily basis to bring each client the best quality experience every visit. As a new company, Lash House is committed to learning new ways we can accommodate our clients, by attending lash conferences with continuing education. Having our suite at Novak Hair Studios has given us the opportunity to reach more clients, expand our clientele, provide a luxury experience for our guests, as well as be apart of a revolutionary zero waste salon. We believe that working with Novaks has put Lash House on the map for lash services. I am so very lucky and honored to be working with such great men and women of the beauty industry and am looking forward to what the next year brings us!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t change the path I took to get where I am today. It’s been a long road of ups and downs but it has made me a better person and lash artist all along the way.
