Meet Lexie Faucher of Lexie Faucher Photography in Grapevine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexie Faucher.

Lexie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always been interested in photography, since high school really. Shortly after high school, I bought my first big girl camera and started taking pictures of everything. I decided to go to school for photojournalism because I wanted to travel around and take pictures. I very quickly realized that it was not for me. There was a lot of writing and I’m NOT a writer. I started taking portraits with the idea that I wanted to be a wedding photographer eventually! When I met my now husband in 2011, he was very supportive of my photography dream and did everything he could to make sure that I made this dream happen. With a lot of hard work, tears and lots of laughing, I now have a wedding and boudoir photography business in the DFW area. I couldn’t be more excited about this journey!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! It has not been a smooth road at all! I don’t think that running any small business is a smooth road. There was learning about sales tax and how to file taxes at the end of the year. There are all of the legal aspects that many people don’t realize. There was learning to not take everything personal even though this business is ME. Dealing with people in general was a struggle for me at the beginning, I was not a people person. Most creatives can understand that. And above all of this, there is the financial struggle of trying to run a successful business. It takes a lot of time, money and dedication. I would sit at my desk and cry many nights from being so overwhelmed. You have to learn to delegate some responsibilities, you will go crazy doing it all on your own!

I don’t think that any successful business had a smooth journey but that is the reason we are here! We have struggled and know what we can handle and how to push to through the hard times.

Lexie Faucher Photography – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a husband and wife wedding photography team and I also photography boudoir (sexy photos)! While I do photograph other things, those two things are what I specialize in. I am just obsessed with weddings and boudoir and they go hand in hand so it’s the perfect relationship.

I work really hard to go above and beyond for all of our clients. I deal with very stressed clients, whether it is a bride or boudoir client. I make them feel relaxed and comfortable and they become more of a friend than client. I really hate the word ‘client’, it’s so cold and sterile sounding. We create a feeling of family here and that’s what I love the most. I am proud of the service that we provide, I have worked hard to get everything streamlined to help boost that experience. I can spend more time with my brides and boudoir ladies because I have streamlined the back-office experience.

There are plenty of people that can take photos, that’s not all that you get with us and I think that’s what sets us apart the most. It’s truly an experience that we want you to have! Something to remember every time you look at your photos.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is so hard to determine. For me success is not all about how much I’m making, yes, I have to pay bills just like everyone else but it’s how my clients talk about me. Word of mouth is huge in this industry and my relationships with other wedding vendors and my clients are more important. As long as I’m still booking clients through word of mouth and growing my business, I will see myself as successful. Our clients being beyond thrilled about their experience is my version of success and this is easy to see with reviews and the ever-growing word of mouth referrals.

Pricing:
