Today we’d like to introduce you to Lilzzy Gonzalez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lilzzy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my Instagram journey back in 2013. I found myself in the same predicament that many young women would find themselves in, I like many others was a teen and pregnant. Often times I would feel very lonely and like nobody really understood it, so I turned to social media. It would be a random post here and there for a couple of years and that’s when it really hit me. People were so judgmental and hateful towards me I wanted to give them an inside look of my life. Last spring I really dedicated myself to growing my followers and being able to give them those tiny glimpses of my everyday life and how hard I really work to provide for my children. It is very hard in a world where we are ruled by social media and the amount of followers or likes you have this is what makes you popular and sometimes the content you are producing doesn’t even really matter. So many belittled me and still do because they will always look at me and others like me as “that kid that got pregnant and ruined her life”. Back in January I decided I was unhappy with my career and decided to go after a dream I had been having for a long time and go back to school full time! As a wife and mother of two that frightened me so much but I knew it had to be done. I am so happy to say I will have completed the first phase of my education this coming December and moving on to nursing school. So yes, I was a teen mom but rather wallow in my situation I took a stand and made the best of it.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it’s always difficult. When you’re trying to get your story out there and no one notices your content or the efforts you put in. There are so many bloggers now it’s the new trend especially when everyone is so obsessed with the amount of followers you have. I just try and make as much effort as I can and hope that someone who was or is in my situation will look at my posts and see it is possible to overcome anything and just because no one believes in you it’s still possible to reach all of your goals.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I guess you could say I’m a “mom vlogger” I document what goes on in my life and post it so people can relate to me. I am most proud of how far my content has come from a year ago it had improved greatly I put so much effort and providing nothing but the best. What sets me apart from others is my story isn’t the same no one’s story is but if I can help someone who is going through similar times than I have succeeded.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Dallas is so big filled with so many different cultures and backgrounds you can really network out and reach so many. There are so many spots to eat or visit that are Instagram worthy. I would recommend this city to anyone who is starting to blog.
