Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Guimont.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Similar to a lot of people in my generation, I started web designing on MySpace and Xanga. But, I continued past that and created my step dad’s first website for his doctor’s office when I was only 13. Then, my dad owned a moving company that I created a website for when I was about 16. So my dads utilized my talent that I didn’t even realize I had. Those were the only two websites I designed until after college. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2017 where I studied journalism and marketing. After graduation, I began working for a start up in Dallas where I was over all of the marketing. While working for the start-up, I was constantly helping the owner develop branding, strategies, social media, websites and more for new business ventures that he wanted to start. Long story short — the start-up company closed and I lost my job.
After losing my job, my stepdad came to me and asked why I don’t do all of the things I was helping my old boss do for other small business owners. That’s when Level Marketing Group was born. I wanted to learn more about the digital marketing space once I opened my company. I was always reading books and online articles to be as informed as possible about my new industry. While doing my research, I learned SMU has a digital marketing certificate program and I immediately signed up. I received my certification this past April and will continue to look for more learning opportunities. But, in the meantime I’ve been focused on providing my clients with the most quality service. My clients have included doctors, financial firms, insurance firms, photographers and more.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road running a business. I’ve run into some issues and learning curves. In this business, you hope that every consultation will turn into a client but that’s not the case. I’ve also had issues with clients not paying timely. But, these are difficulties I prepared for because I knew the type of clients I wanted to attract – small business owners that are trying to build.
Level Marketing Group – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Level Marketing Group is a digital marketing business that helps small businesses create and execute marketing strategies on digital channels. I mostly specialize in website design, SEO, paid search and social media ads. I’m most proud of keeping satisfied clients, they know that I’m always a phone call away. I’m a one woman show, so I believe I relate to business owners who are similar to me — doing it all. My goal is to provide affordable prices for necessary services that can be difficult for the typical entrepreneur to do on their own.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far was when I got my first client signed a contract with me. It was also the same day I broadcasted my business on social media. I received overwhelming support from friends and family.
