Meet Lisa Huszar of Tastefully Yours Catering in Southlake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Huszar.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Tastefully Yours Catering is based on my husband, Andrew Huszar’s unique culinary background. Andrew was trained in Australia. Andrew came to the states and met me in Chicago in 1988. He was highly sought after and worked in many of the popular restaurants in Chicago. In 2007 we decided to go into business for ourselves.

We elected catering as the type foodservice business we wanted to own. We opened up a map and decided where we did not want to live and where we would want to live. Next, we went to BizBuy.com and searched for the perfect business. From the very first phone call and email search of Grapevine Texas we knew we were moving our family to Texas.

Has it been a smooth road?
Catering is a business that demands a lot of time. Balancing work and family life was a bit of a challenge. We have been so lucky so far. No real struggles. The biggest struggle early on and to this day is finding good staff.

We have been very lucky to hire and keep a good core staff. As the business continues to grow the challenge of staffing is a constant challenge.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Tastefully Yours Catering story. Tell us more about the business.
We are an off-premise catering company. We do all kinds of events. Weddings, galas, house parties and corporate team building cooking classes.

Andrew’s culinary talents are wide open. We can do an exquisite plated meal or a great BBQ slider. For me, I love the house parties. Andrew loves the plated dinners.

I love making our business clients shine and our private clients the envy of their guests. Can’t forget weddings. For both Andrew and me the biggest compliment we can get is when our clients tell us their phone was off the hook with compliments from their event.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I am hoping so new food service trends come up. I like to do different things. We have over 3000 menu items, which keeps my job exciting. No two menus or parties are the same.
