Meet Lizzie Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzie Johnson.

Hi Lizzie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey as a nurse started 9 short years ago. My dedication to helping others in the cardiac ICU has evolved into my true passion in aesthetic nursing by making people feel confident in their own skin. My journey in aesthetics started with an unfortunate back injury in the hospital. I knew I could not be a floor nurse without long-term consequences on my physical health. I researched all kinds of nursing, and aesthetic nursing kept coming up. When I moved to Dallas, I could not find an injecting job without experience. So, I did the next best thing and worked PACU for Dr. Yaker, a Plano plastic surgeon. And the rest was history. I immediately fell in love with the aesthetic industry, and I knew I was where I was meant to be.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As everyone knows, nursing is one of the hardest, most rewarding careers. I would say the biggest struggle in my career was being a travel nurse during the 2020 pandemic. I took a contract in New Orleans when I was furloughed from my aesthetic nursing job. I learned a lot about myself during that time being away from the comforts of my home, family, and friends. It was such an eye-opening experience being there for people that needed help the most at that time in the world.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work at Ovme, a medical aesthetic studio where I specialize in botox and dermal fillers. I am known for restoring and maintaining clients’ confidence with a natural approach. I am most proud of the relationships I have built in this growing field. There is no better compliment than when a client refers to their close friends and family to see me. What sets me apart from others is when someone sits in my chair, I want it to be a fun/memorable experience. I know my patients feel comfortable with me because a simple botox or lip filler appointment turns into a heartfelt conversation. My goal is for my clients to enjoy themselves and leave feeling more refreshed and confident. It’s always a plus when clients come in and leave as your friend, and that is what makes me most proud.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
It would be easy to say I would not be the person I am today without the lessons nursing has taught me. I think the most valuable lesson would be to treat everyone like your loved one. Whenever I have someone in my chair, I try to give them the best assessment and advice for their aesthetic goals. I am honest with my patients, and I think my genuineness shows through when I engage with my clients. I never want to sell a client, I want to enhance what makes them, them!
